God morning my brothers and sisters,
Here is hoping you all are doing great this morning and heading into the weekend with excitement.
I want to share a powerful reminder today that we often don't realize the impact we have on others.
You see, every other Sunday, I am privileged to volunteer at church, standing at the entrance, greeting people as they arrive. I actually enjoy this role—being the first face people see, offering a smile, a warm handshake, or just a simple “Good morning.” It’s my way of starting the day on a positive note, both for myself and for others.
Recently, on one of these Sundays, a gentleman approached me with a familiar smile, though I couldn’t quite place him. “Are you J.A. Dava?” he asked. I nodded, curious about what he might say next. “You might not remember me,” he continued, “but I worked with you once, a long time ago, and I wanted to say hello and let you know that I really enjoy your Friday messages.”
At first, I was puzzled. I didn’t recall sending any direct messages to him. Noticing my confusion, he explained, “Your God morning posts on social media. I look forward to them every Friday. They’ve really made a difference in my life.”
Now I understood. Every Friday, I post this God morning message, just something uplifting, a reminder of God’s presence, and how we can rely on His strength to get through the challenges of the day or week. I’ve always enjoyed sharing these thoughts, but I had no idea how far-reaching they were. This man had never commented, liked, or interacted with those posts, yet they had touched him deeply.
He shared how one particular message about praying the armor of God over ourselves before we even get out of bed had really resonated with him. He had been struggling with anxiety in both his personal life and at work. The idea of starting the day by putting on the armor of God gave him a new perspective, bringing him peace and confidence. Each piece of the armor helped him focus on a different aspect of his day and approach to situations, giving him the strength to face his anxieties with courage.
I was humbled by his words. It was a powerful reminder that we never truly know the influence we have on others. Whether we’re aware of it or not, our actions, our words, and even the small things we do each day can have a profound effect on someone else’s life. We all have the choice to be a positive influence, and this encounter reaffirmed that choosing to uplift others, even in small ways, can make a significant difference.
This brings us to our Friday Fly-by word which comes from Hebrews 10:24 and it says…"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds."
Every day, we make choices that can either uplift or discourage, inspire or dishearten. We never truly know the impact our words and actions might have on others. Someone might be quietly watching, drawing strength from our kindness, or finding hope in our encouragement. That’s why it’s crucial to approach each day with the intention to be a positive influence, knowing that even the smallest gesture can make a big difference in someone’s life. So choose Love.
Truly hope this has encouraged you today…go, Be blessed and go be a blessing! Have a great weekend everyone!
